SPRING BIRD WALK

with BIRDER & NATURALIST, nathaniel sharp

Spring is a time of transition, and few things represent that transition as well as the arrival of migrating birds! Our time together on April 7th will begin with a spring bird walk led by birder & naturalist Nathaniel Sharp on the trails around the farm. Nathaniel has been a birder since a young age, and has contributed to bird research on grasslands, mountaintops, coastlines, and more throughout New England. Together we will tune into the sights and sounds of early spring, with a particular focus on learning the calls and songs of the farm's avian residents. After a 45-minute, slow-paced walk around the area, we will tally up the birds we've seen and heard with a handy app known as eBird to contribute our sightings to a broader community science initiative and share our bird list among the group.

Binoculars or a camera are helpful but not necessary to bring, though sturdy footwear and a water bottle are always a must!
